What workforce development efforts related to energy are happening in tribal communities?
Ken Ahmann - Colusa Indian Energy says:
Our projects all include Tribal member workforce development components. We actively solicit the Tribes for any members who want to get trained and paid during the construction and long term operation and maintenance of the systems we develop for the Tribes. “Tribal energy sovereignty” for us means owning and operating the means of energy production and distribution. If Tribes are left to rely on us or another third party to keep these systems operational, we have failed at our mission.
The people of the Yakama Nation has had a deep connection to the forest and their land for countless generations.
