Paula Poncho is the Realty Management Officer in the Alaska division of Indian Health Services (IHS).
Her work ensures that reimbursement amounts under ISDEAA Section 105(l) leases are reasonable. In many cases, Ms. Poncho’s work has reduced lease award values by one-half of the proposed amounts.
She has overseen renovation of the Alaska Area office. She administers 85 VBC leases in Alaska on behalf of Tribes and Tribal Orgs. under ISDEAA Title V compact buyback agreements.
She assists T/TOs in market analysis and rental rate setting for staff quarters in extremely rural locations throughout Alaska. Ms. Poncho’s work exemplifies the Alaska Area IHS’ Mission, which in fulfillment of the IHS Mission, is “To make Tribal self-determination work for all.” From IHS Facebook post.
