You are invited to attend a National Congress of American Indians webinar this Thursday, December 5 at 1:00 p.m. PT / 3:00 p.m. ET to learn about NCAI's "Why Native Small Businesses Matter and How to Grow Them” animated video series and its newly released how-to companion guides for Tribal Nations and tribal colleges and universities.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Earlier this year, NCAI released the groundbreaking “Why Native Small Businesses Matter and How to Grow Them” animated video series, which teaches about the vital importance of Native-owned small businesses to the rebuilding of vibrant Native economies, and how tribal governments can best support the cultivation of a robust small business ecosystem in and around tribal lands.
NCAI is proud to announce the release of a companion guide to inform and support the teaching of this multimedia curriculum in tribal college and university classrooms. The Companion Guide for Educators – designed specifically for tribal college and university faculty – features a comprehensive array of tools for teaching the video series in the classroom, including: the NCAI "Building Tribal Economies" Toolkit companion textbook; three lesson plans; three group project assignments; and suggested quiz, test, and essay questions. NCAI also released a Companion Guide for Tribal Nations, which features tools to inform strategic tribal decision-making and action, guidance for convening community focus groups to discuss small business development and formulate priorities, a self-assessment exercise designed to evaluate the current health of your Tribal Nation’s small business ecosystem, and a partnership-mapping tool to identify and engage allies to grow your local Native small business sector.
