How the HEARTH Act (2012) Impacts Tribes
The Helping Expedite and Advance Responsible Tribal Home Ownership Act of 2012 (HEARTH Act) authorizes Tribes to negotiate and enter into regulated and approved surface leases without further approval from the Department of the Interior, offering Tribes a voluntary, more efficient land-leasing process.
